Interview: Chris Carter on the new Director's Cut of 'I Want to Believe' and the future of 'The X-Files'

Host Daniel Hartvig recently sat down with The X-Files creator Chris Carter to talk about his brand-new Director's Cut of the 2008 X-Files movie 'I Want to Believe', premiering on Hulu and Disney+ on August 14. In our conversation, Carter looks back at the making of what became the second X-Files feature film. He reflects on the production, the discussions with the studio over the film's rating, the intense editing process, and - perhaps most importantly - how, 18 years later, this new version finally brings the film much closer to the one he originally envisioned. Chris Carter also pays tribute to the late Mark Snow and looks ahead to the future of The X-Files. What does he think about the new X-Files series currently in development? We discuss that, as well as the newly announced X-Files LEGO set and the upcoming comic books expanding the X-Files universe.
