Episode 42: Johanna Nuutinen – Sinking into structure

Finnish choreographer Johanna Nuutinen joins host Samuel Denton for a conversation about revisiting the piece ‘Zero-Zero’ with a new cast. What is it like for her to be confronted with something she previously made? Is it an opportunity to relive, reconsider and revise original intentions? Johanna also shares memorable moments from her hugely successful performance career as a dancer, and the value and principals that she has used to carve out her choreographic voice. She talks about her multidisciplinary collaborations with her own company Johanna Nuutinen +Collaborators in Helsinki, and how to establish creative boundaries. This is a short, recorded episode of Sam's reflections with a link to a PDF transcript of the interview due to technical issues.
